Meet the Owner and Visionary Behind Padure Manor

If this is your dream, read on! My name is Jānis Lazdāns, and I am the owner of Padure Manor. Sixteen years ago, the beauty of Padure Manor first captivated me, and since 2015, I have been actively involved in its restoration. Over the past few years, I have invested a great deal of energy, work, time, and care in the manor, including organizing tours, events, concerts, and hosting guests. Padure Manor has become a delightful place for visitors and has gained recognition among creative personalities thanks to its unique exhibitions and inspiring atmosphere.

Restoring the manor is a passion of mine, and although I initially saw it as a lifetime project that drove me to despair, it has now become a wonderful journey. During this time, I have experienced a wealth of positive emotions, met people, attended concerts, theatre performances, and exhibitions. My knowledge of restoration processes and event management skills have undoubtedly improved.

Transforming Padure Manor into a Gourmet Hotel

The grand vision for the manor's restoration includes converting it into a gourmet hotel. This means guests can book 3 or 5-day culinary masterclasses in the historical building and learn to prepare various dishes from ancient cookbooks. Ingredients will be sourced from local farms in the Kuldiga region, benefiting local agriculture. In the evenings, guests can enjoy social gatherings or live music at the manor. This offer reduces demand seasonality, with Christmas and Easter dishes taught just before the respective holidays. The masterclasses are planned for weekdays, with the manor available for rent for weddings, birthdays, or other celebrations on weekends. Additional income from renting out the manor for seminars, conferences, photo sessions, etc., is also planned.

A Sustainable Future Through Crowdfunding

Preliminary estimates put the total costs at 1,500,000 euros. This crowdfunding campaign aims to raise funds for water, sewage, electricity, and heating systems. Such infrastructure has never been in the manor before. These upgrades will ensure the manor's optimal functioning during the cold months and allow for the development of guest rooms.

Throughout the design and construction phase, the manor will operate as usual, as we have figured out how to conduct the renovations without disturbing guests' relaxation. Regarding financial benefits, as previously mentioned, all funds will be invested in improving and developing the technical condition of the manor, increasing its value as a real estate and business entity.
